Riders Ready, Watch the Gate, Go!
Yesterday I started the riding portion of my 2007 pre-season training. What better way to start then for me to travel down to the smallest indoor velodrome in North America for a rec. ride. I travelled down with a friend of mine that has started cycling again after a 10 year lay off. It was a great start to the season. Only 7 people were there for the 2 hour session, which left the track mainly to ourselves. I rode off and on for 2 hours working on general bike handling, and track awareness. The track has over 50 degree corners with the straight aways still maintaining almost a 20 degree angle. I will try and make it down there about once a month during the off season. It will be a great break from using the trainer at home or logging the miles on the road when the snow breaks. My strength training in the gym is already starting to show. I rode well, felt strong, and was not sore at all when I woke up this morning. Positive things happen to positive people.
